Spencer Zimmerman is a Canadian director, screenwriter, and producer from Saskatoon, SK, based in Vancouver BC. He graduated with a Bachelor of Motion Picture Arts from Capilano University in 2021. His films have screened to much acclaim at the BRITISH FILM INSTITUTE,  the SCAD SAVANNAH FILM FESTIVAL, and FANTASIA. 

 

An alumnus of the CMPA-BC Production Mentorship Program, Spencer now works for ODDFELLOWS PICTURES, where he has contributed to projects such as Osgood Perkins’ LONGLEGS, THE MONKEY,  including Associate Producer credits on KEEPER and THE YOUNG PEOPLE. In 2025, he was selected as one of 6 directors of over 150 pitches to direct a film under the highly competitive CRAZY8S FILM PROGRAM, where he was challenged to shoot and edit a short film in only 8 days. The ensuing short film HEADCASE, had it’s World Premiere at Fantasia International Film Festival, was nominated for the DGC award for Best Short Film, and has garnered headlines from publications like Variety and Playback.
